One thing you may not have known about the recording of this album, which was released on 1 Sep 1998, was that it took place in an old movie theatre in Oxnard, California. Daniel Lanois
produced the album and also took the album cover photograph and played guitar, bass and Omnichord on the track "The Maker", which he also wrote.

Long time harmonica player Mickey Raphael, Emmylou Harris and Bobbie Nelson, Willie's sister, provided backing vocals for the album. Several
songs on this album are re-makes from older Willie songs he had recorded back in the 1960's including;

• My Own Peculiar Way (1964),
• Home Motel (1962),
• I Just Can't Let You Say Goodbye (1968),
• I've Just Destroyed the World (1962),
• Three Days (1962)

The album was recorded and mixed by Mark Howard.
