This song hails from the Deja Vu 1970 album and had become a cultural anthem of sorts against the Vietnam War and nuclear war. Graham Nash wrote the song its believed based on a difficult relationship with his father.

Teach Your Children Chords
This song is a simple 4 chord song using D, G, A7 and Bm. You can also throw in a quick D7 as I do in
a few spots. I also tend to play this one a bit faster than the original
version as you'll notice but its a pretty basic song. I use a bit of a slide intro in my version.
Teach Your Children Strumming
I like to use a bit of a country strum in this one by using what I call Bass Note Strumming. Thats where you play
the root note of the chord, in this case the D chord ... followed by a quick up-dn-up .. and then followed by the Bass
Note of D which is the open A string. So we have a note-up-dn-up-Bassnote-up-dn-up ... etc.
The same technique applies when playing the G chord (bass note open D string) and the A7 (bass note open E).
Only one pattern in this one... (more below).
Teach Your Children Picking
I use a bit of a slide in the intro for this song and a few licks in-between the verses which is pretty much the
same between the verses ... nothing complex as you'll see.
