Lucky Man Lyrics
By Emerson Lake And Palmer

Welcome to the Lucky Man lyrics page from Emerson Lake And Palmer along with a live performance clip from Greg Palmer and my acoustic guitar demo.

This song was from the bands debut album of the same name back in 1970. This song was used at the end of the recording session because the group was short by a few minutes, so Lucky Man, written by Greg Lake when he was 12, filled the gap. It was also the first song to use a Moog Synthesizer as a solo instrument and that part was recorded in one take by Keith Emerson.

--- Start Of Lyrics for Lucky Man ---

He had white Horses
And ladies by the score
All dressed in satin
And waiting by the door

Ooooh, what a lucky man he was
Ooooh, what a lucky man he was

White lace and feathers
They made up his bed
A gold covered mattress
On which he was laid

CH -- BREAK

He went to fight wars
For his country and his king
Of his honor and his glory
The people would sing

CH

A bullet had found him
His blood ran as he cried
No money could save him
So he laid down and he died

CH -- Ah
