1. A Boy Named Sue
If you get the chance, take a look at the video on this song. You'll see Johnny reading the
words, and for good reason. He read over the lyrics only moments before going on stage.
They performed the song off the cuff with no practice, in one take, and it became a #1 hit when released
as a live single back in 1969. The song was written by Shel Silverstein.
The Boy Named Sue chords you'll need are G, C7 and D7.

This song was released by Johnny Cash way back in 1958. The song peaked at #4 on the charts.

Johnny Cash performed a song called Hey Porter in 1955 for then owner of Sun Records, Sam
Philips. He was told that song wouldn't sell to go home and write one that would sell. The
next day he came back with Cry Cry Cry.
Strangely enough Sun released Hey Porter as the A side
and Cry Cry Cry as the B side. Cry Cry Cry peaked at #14 and launched his career.
The Cry Cry Cry chords needed here are G, A, D, E, A7 and Bb.

Flesh and Blood was a song written by Johnny Cash himself and went on to peak at #1
in 1970 on the country charts.
I play this song in the key of C, whereas Cash recorded the song
in A, which is much lower to accomodate his low vocal range.
My picking break is a bit longer than in the original version.
The other Flesh And Blood chords besides C are C7, F and D7.

Johnny Cash first released Get Rhythm in 1956 and the song went to the top of the charts.
It was released again in 1969 with some over-dubbing and peaked at #14. Like many earlier Cash
songs, this is a simple 3 chord song.
The Get Rhythm chords I play for this song are D, G and A.
