How To Play Start All Over Again By The Desert Rose Band
Welcome to this page where Id like to explain how to play Start All Over Again by The Desert Rose Band.
"Start All Over Again" was the first single released by The Desert Rose Band from their 1989 album titles "Pages Of Life".
This song, which I have to be honest,
I never heard before it was requested, peaked at #6 on the US Country chart. Two other singles from that album peaked at #10 and #13.
The Desert Rose Band was formed by former member of The Byrds Chris Hillman. The band was active from 1985-1994 and then again from 2008-2010.
During that
time they had six top 10 songs and two #1 hits. The band was playing some reunion shows in 2010 throughout the US. You can view their
current upcoming shows here.
How To Play Start All Over Again By The Desert Rose Band Kirby Style
This song threw me when I first listened to it because the guitar player is on an off-beat when he starts. When the drums kick in it sounds like someone
is out of sync. So in my demo below I didnt follow the original recording. The chords in this one are E, Gbm, B7, A, D, E7 and C.

How To Play Rhythm For Start All Over Again
To get this one off the ground you'll want to play down over three notes on the E7 chord followed by and upstroke on the E7. I do the same on the A and B7 intro
chords.
After that it's a simple note-dn-up-note-up-dn-up pattern where "note" is the 1st bar, "dn-up" is the 2nd bar, "note" is the 3rd bar and "up-dn-up" is the
4th bar. As I mention in the full instructional tutorial, you can also play a double bass pattern in the chorus if you choose.
My lead break in this one is not exactly note for note as I like to leave room for some personal improvisation. This is fully explained in the
full instructional tutorial at the link below.
