A great song here and I'd like to explain how to play Sissys Song by Alan Jackson
on the acoustic guitar. Below is a free full instructional tutorial on how to play this tune.
A tragedy was the reason this song was composed by Alan Jackson and added to his 2008 album Good Time. His long
time housekeeper Leslie Sissy Fitzgerald was suddenly killed in a motorcycle accident.
Jackson said he couldn't sleep for some time after the accident and after writing the song, felt much better
physically. He played the
song for the family on the acoustic at her funeral. I was asked once to play at a young boys funeral from my
hometown, but couldnt do it.
The song was released as a single in the early part of 2009 and peaked at #9 on the US country charts. The album
itself debuted at #1.

Its a simple 3 chord song using a capo on the third fret with drop D tuning. Drop D is simply tuning the top E string
down to the D string so yo uhave a deep D note at the top, which allows you to play all 6 strings while strumming
the D chord. The G chord changes to the two top strings on the 5th fret and the bottom string on the 3rd fret.
