Welcome to my page on how to play Revolution by The Beatles. There is also a free tab in the right menu.
This song was written by John Lennon and recorded by The Beatles in 1968. For the most part, The Beatles were not
a political protest band with their music. The song "Taxman" was perhaps an exception.
But "Revolution" made a pretty
bold statement how Lennon was feeling about governments and war.
If you want all of the details on this song, because there was more than one version created, Id suggest you
check out the Wiki article here.
How To Play Revolution by The Beatles Kirby Style
The Beatles recorded this song in B but because of the distortion used on the track it's slightly off pitch.
So what Ive done below is play it on G. The chords Im using are G, C, D, Am, B7, D7, E7 and at the end of the
song Im using G7 and C7.
As you'll notice in my demo Im sliding into the two bottom strings on the 3rd and then bending them on the
5th before launching into G chord and the vocals. Before the third verse I also created my own lead riff for
this song which is fully covered and explained in the full instructional tutorial available form the link below.
You can play this song with a steady up and dn pattern as I discuss in the tutorial. What Im doing is a quick
dn-up-dn-up-dn-up ,,, and repeat all thru the verse.
Just before the last line there is a series of one stroke
downstrokes and then the last line is a drum roll shuffle pattern taking us into the chorus.
At the end Im just going from the G7 to the C7. Dont forget to grab the free tab in the right hand menu.
