demo clip and grab some free tabs in the lower right hand menu.
George Jones co-wrote this song with his good friend Johnny Paycheck. Jones recorded this song as a track on his
album called "The Grand Tour" released in 1974. The album peaked at #11. This song, "Once You've Had The Best"
was released in 1973 ahead of the album and peaked at #3.
Alan Jackson also recorded this song in 1999 as part of his "Under The Influence" album. Jackson however
did not release his version of this song as a single.
Just a bit of trivia here ... Johnny Paycheck onced played bass and steel guitar for George Jones, and when
Paycheck died in Feb 2004 from poor health and flat broke, George Jones apparently paid for his funeral.
This song follows the standard country format as you'd expect. It's a 4 chord song with one rhythm pattern.

The chords you'll need for this one are pretty straight forward ... G, C, D or D7 and and A7. I start this one
off with a simple riff pattern and add a full picking break in the middle of the song. Both of these are fully
