Richie Kavanagh grew up in Raheenwood, Fenagh, Muine Bheag, County Carlow in Ireland in 1949, and after all these years,
still live in his home town. He has written many hit songs and is a well known entertainer especially in Ireland.
He no longer plays any instruments due to his battle with Psoriasis back in 1994 which crippled Richies hands. But it was after that tradegy
that he wrote his most famous song bcalled Aon Focal Eile.
Since Feb 2011 he announced that he has also been fighting a bout
with Parkinsons Disease.
This particular song here, "No Drink No More", is a funny story about someone who has drank all his life and missed many
things so finnaly has decided to stop drinking. The song hails from the album of the same name.
How To Play No Drink No More by Richie Kavanagh Kirby Style
I start this off with a walking pattern on the top string up to the A chord. You'll notice this song
is played in a different key from the original so it's not so low to sing. The chords in this one are D, A7,
D7 and G7.
There is no lead guitar in this but I do throw in a series of hammer-ons and pull off's which are fully covered in my
full instructional tutorial below.
