On this page I'd like to explain to you how to play Mr Soul by Buffalo Springfield. Check out my acoustic
demo clip and grab some free tabs in the lower left hand menu.
Mr Soul was written by Neil Young and recorded by the band he was with at the time known as Buffalo Springfield.
The song was not released as a single when the album came out in Nov 1967.
But over the years, many versions of
the song were released by Neil Young.
Buffalo Springfield consisted of 5 members, one of those was Stephen Stills. They had many issues to deal with
as a group and after two years and three albums, they disbanded.
Of course Stills and Young connected again when CSNY was formed before Young went on a solo career.
This song sounds a bit like Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones in terms of the riff that the guitar is playing.
If you search the net, you'll find a few different versions of this song. The version Im playing is the fast
version of the song.
How To Play Mr Soul by Buffalo Springfield Kirby Style
Not much really to this song. The chords you'll need are E, D and A. We have a little riff on the E chord
and a bit of slide work for the main picking break ... all of which is fully explained in the full version
instructional tutorial.
