Below on this page I'll explain to you how to play Love The One Youre With By Stephen Stills. Also on this page you'll find my demo video clip and free tabs in the lower right hand menu.
After the breakup of Crosby Stills Nash and Young in 1970 the band members went solo. CSN still hung together off and on but Neil Young made a
very successful solo career. Stephen Stills recorded his first solo album in 1970 called "Stephen Stills" and released "Love The One
You're With" as a pop single. It peaked at #14.
The song has been covered by many different artists over the years.
Billy Preston, who was a close friend often uttered the line "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with". So Stills
asked him if he could use the line in a song and Preston said absolutely.
Funny how hit songs are generated sometimes.
Now I'm playing the A chord on this song in two positions. I start up on the 5th fret for 4 bars and then move back to the 2nd fret while
doing a hammer on onto the B string the 3rd and the D string on the 4th.
The other chords needed are Gbm, E A and D. While playing the verses
I hit the G note as shown in the demo video below. And you'll also play the G and Gb notes on the dododo section.
This page only contains lyrics, demo and purchase button for now but eventually will be turned into a full
how to play article. Thanks for your patience.

This is a simple steady up and down all the way thru the song except where you'll play the G and Gb notes on the dododo section. I haven't put any lead into this one so I'm humming my way thru that section.
This is a great tune for the acoustic because it's well known by the older crowd. Grab the free tab in
the top left menu which you may find helpful.
I hope you found this How To Play Love The One Your With By Stephen Stills useful and informative.
