Welcome to this page on how to play I Wont Let Go by Rascal Flatts on the acoustic. There is a demo and a free tab also on this page.
I Wont Let Go is the second single released from the album Nothing Like This by Rascal Flatts.
This song hit the airwaves in Jan 2011 and eventually peaked at #2 on the counrry charts.
This song was not written by Rascal Flatts but by Steve Robson and Jason Sellers who have both written songs for various Nashville artists.
Like most songs put out by Rascal Flatts, this is very high to sing due to Gary LeVox's high tenor voice.
The writers stated that the song is not targeted at any one situation, but could
apply to many, as if God himself were speaking the message.
I had to change the starting chords in this one from A and lower it to the G
because it's too darn high to sing otherwise.
Here are the chords you'll need for this one. We do a two fret key change near the end. G, C, D, Em , Dsus, Bm, F, Am ... on the key change you'll need these additional chords A, Dbm, Esus, E, Db, Gbm and B. Not your 3 chord typical country song.
---
You could play this with all down strokes from start to finish, but
what I'm doing is to play the 1st verse and chorus lightly with down strokes.
Once we enter into the second verse you can switch to a dn-dn-up-dn-up ... dn-dn-up-dn-up pattern.
You'll see what I mean when you watch the demo video.
There is no lead in my version as it's strictly all rhythm.
Grab the free tabs in the top left column which should help.
