In 1977 the album Changes In Latitudes Changes In Attitudes
was a break through of sorts for Jimmy Buffet and his career. Up until that point he was well known in
the Key West region, had received airplay on FM radio for some of his early work off of his previous 7 albums, and had a following of devout fans.
But Margaritaville, from this album, broke open AM airlay for Jimmy Buffet and a much wider audience. Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes itself
also did very well as a single and also received considerable airplay. It broke the top 40, depending on which chart you're looking at,
but the album itself
peaked at #2 on the US Country charts.
The album version and the single version differ slightly in lyrics as the line "good times and riches and son-of-a-bitches; I've seen more than I can recall"
was changed to "good time and riches, some bruises and stitches; I've seen more than I can recall" for the single which aired on radio.

How To Play Rhythm For Come Monday
You'll notice
the rhythm pattern is pretty much a note-up-dn-up-note-up-dn-up all the way thru except in some spots, like the picking, I use mostly downstrokes
as I move thru that area. The main picking break is not as long as the intro picking pattern, which goes around twice. The song also ends with a part of
the same break.
