The Beatles hold the title as the most commercially successful band in the history of popular music.

EMI put out an estimate in 1985 that The Beatles songs had sold more than 1 billion records. And according to RIAA, the group has sold more records in the US than anyone else.

A music director in Chicago named Art Roberts, from radio station WLS, played the first Beatles song on American radio. That song was Please Please Me in Feb of 1963.

In 1968 The Beatles recorded a bit of a political song that was a B-side but peaked at #1 in the US. That song was called Revolution.
